Pelvic Floor Therapy
Relief is possible. You don't have to "just live with it.”
Pelvic floor dysfunction shows up differently for everyone. It might be leaking when you laugh. Pain that makes intimacy impossible. Pressure in your pelvis that never quite goes away. Constipation, urgency, or the feeling that something just isn't right after having a baby. Whatever brought you here, you're in the right place.
We specialize in pelvic floor therapy for people at every stage of life. Our team has the training, the time, and the dedication to get to the root of your symptoms and help you actually get better.
You Deserve Care That Takes You Seriously.
At Anchor Pelvic Therapy, every session is one-on-one, an hour long, and centered around you. There's no rushing, no guessing, and no being handed off to a tech or an aide. You will work directly with a pelvic floor specialist who will listen to your full history, prioritize your goals, and build a treatment plan that actually fits your life.
Diagnoses & Symptoms We Treat
-
Pain in the pelvis rarely has a simple explanation — but it does have real treatment. We work with people experiencing generalized pelvic pain, pain with intercourse (dyspareunia), vulvodynia, vaginismus, endometriosis-related pain, interstitial cystitis, tailbone pain (coccydynia), and post-surgical pelvic pain.
-
If you're constantly rushing to the bathroom, leaking, or struggling to go — your pelvic floor is likely involved. We treat urinary leakage (stress, urge, or mixed incontinence), urinary urgency and frequency, overactive bladder, difficulty emptying the bladder fully, constipation, fecal urgency or incontinence, and painful bladder syndrome.
-
Pelvic floor dysfunction affects men too, and it's more common than most people realize. We treat pelvic pain, urinary leakage or urgency, post-prostatectomy incontinence, painful intercourse or ejaculation, erectile dysfunction related to pelvic floor tension, chronic prostatitis symptoms, and tailbone or perineal pain.
-
Pregnancy puts significant demand on your pelvic floor. You don't have to just push through it. We treat pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis dysfunction (SPD), low back and hip pain, round ligament pain, urinary leakage during pregnancy, pelvic pressure and heaviness, tailbone pain, and preparation for labor and delivery.
-
Your body just did something remarkable. Healing deserves the same level of attention. We treat perineal pain and scar tissue from tearing or episiotomy, c-section scar sensitivity and adhesions, diastasis recti, urinary leakage or urgency after delivery, pelvic organ prolapse, pain with intercourse after childbirth, core and pelvic floor reconnection, and return to exercise and activity.
-
Prolapse is incredibly common, and it does not automatically mean surgery. Conservative treatment works. We treat bladder prolapse (cystocele), rectal prolapse (rectocele), uterine prolapse, vaginal vault prolapse following hysterectomy, and symptoms like pelvic pressure, heaviness, or the sensation of something falling out — especially symptoms that worsen with activity, lifting, or standing for long periods.
Pelvic floor dysfunction is treatable, not inevitable.
Most women assume their symptoms are just an inevitable part of having a baby, being a woman, or getting older. They're not. Leaking, pain, pressure, urgency, and prolapse are all signs that your pelvic floor needs support, and that's exactly what we address with pelvic floor therapy.
What to Expect
We know that talking about pelvic pain — especially pain with intimacy — takes courage. Here's what you'll always find at Anchor Pelvic:
One-on-one, private care. Every session is just you and your therapist, in a calm and confidential space.
A full hour with your provider. We don't rush. We listen. We make sure you feel understood before we ever talk about a plan.
A personalized treatment approach. Your pain has a story. Your treatment plan will too. It is built entirely around you, your body, and your goals.
A team that believes you. Too many women have been dismissed, told it's in their head, or handed a pamphlet and sent home. That's not what we do here. Your pain is real, and you deserve real care.
A trauma-informed approach to your care. We understand that for many people, pelvic pain is deeply connected to past experiences, and your comfort and safety come first, always. Every step of your care is explained before it happens, every boundary is respected without question, and you are always in control.
Frequently Asked Questions about Pelvic Therapy
-
Pelvic floor PT is a specialty area of physical therapy focused on the muscles, connective tissue, and nerves of the pelvis. Your pelvic floor controls bladder and bowel function, supports your pelvic organs, and plays a major role in sexual function and core stability. When something is off — whether it's too tight, too weak, or not coordinating properly — it can create a wide range of symptoms. Pelvic floor PT addresses those symptoms at the source.
-
Pelvic floor therapy treats a wide range of conditions including pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, bladder leakage, urgency and frequency, constipation, prolapse, pregnancy-related pelvic symptoms, postpartum recovery, clogged ducts and mastitis, and men's pelvic health concerns like pain, incontinence, and post-prostatectomy recovery.
-
No. Florida is a direct access state, which means you can schedule an evaluation without a physician referral. If you have questions about your specific insurance or situation, reach out and we'll help you figure it out.
-
Your first session is a full hour. We'll spend time talking through your history, your symptoms, and your goals before anything else happens. An internal exam may be recommended depending on your symptoms, but it is never required and will always be fully explained and consented to before it begins. You are in control of every step.
-
No. We regularly work with people who have been dealing with pelvic floor symptoms for years — sometimes decades — and have seen significant improvement. The length of time you've had symptoms doesn't determine whether treatment can help. What matters is getting the right evaluation and the right plan.
-
Yes. Pelvic floor dysfunction is not just a women's health issue. We treat men dealing with pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, post-prostatectomy recovery, painful intercourse, and other pelvic health concerns. Everyone deserves access to this care.
