Pregnancy Pelvic Therapy
Your Body Is Changing Fast, and We're Here to Help You Keep Up
Pregnancy places enormous demands on your pelvic floor, core, hips, and spine. As your body shifts and grows, muscles and joints that were once balanced can become strained, overloaded, or simply confused about what they're supposed to be doing. The result is pain, discomfort, and symptoms that can make pregnancy feel harder than it needs to be.
And then there's the noise. Between social media, well-meaning friends, and conflicting advice from every direction, it can feel nearly impossible to know what's actually safe, what's actually helpful, and who you can actually trust. We're here to cut through all of that and give you clear, evidence-based guidance that's specific to your body and your pregnancy.
Not every woman comes to us because something is wrong. Many of our pregnancy patients feel great and want to keep it that way. Whether your goal is to stay active and strong throughout your pregnancy, prepare your body for birth, or simply feel confident that you're doing the right things for yourself and your baby, we're here for all of it.
Every therapist on our team has completed advanced training in prenatal care and supporting women through safe, effective exercise during pregnancy. You're not just in good hands, you're in the most qualified hands we know how to put you in.
The good news is that most of what comes up during pregnancy is very treatable, and addressing it now sets you up for a smoother birth and a stronger recovery on the other side.
Your Body Is Doing Something Incredible.
Let's Help It Feel That Way.
Pregnancy is one of the most transformative experiences of your life. But between the back pain, the pelvic pressure, the leaking when you sneeze, and the anxiety about labor, it can also feel really hard. So much of this gets brushed off as "just part of being pregnant”, and it doesn't have to be.
At Anchor Pelvic Therapy, we believe that feeling supported during pregnancy isn't a luxury, it's something every woman deserves. We're here to help you hurt less, prepare for birth, and feel fully confident about what's ahead.
Diagnoses & Symptoms We Treat
-
Low back pain, hip pain, rib pain, round ligament pain — pregnancy can feel like a rotating door of new aches. We help identify what's driving your discomfort and give you real, hands-on relief along with tools to manage symptoms as your body continues to change.
-
Symphysis pubis dysfunction and pelvic girdle pain can make simple things — walking, rolling over in bed, going up stairs — feel agonizing. This is one of the most common and most undertreated pregnancy conditions we see, and physical therapy can make a dramatic difference in how you feel day to day.
-
As your belly grows, the connective tissue between your abdominal muscles stretches and can separate — this is called diastasis recti. While some separation is normal and expected, how you move and load your body during pregnancy matters. We'll help you understand what's happening, how to protect your core, and what to avoid so you're setting yourself up for a stronger recovery postpartum.
-
One of the most valuable things you can do before labor is prepare your pelvic floor for it. We work with you on breathing strategies, pushing mechanics, perineal tissue preparation, and positioning — so that when the moment comes, your body knows what to do. Women who prepare their pelvic floor for birth often experience shorter pushing phases, fewer tears, and faster recoveries.
-
If you're planning or anticipating a cesarean delivery, there is so much you can do beforehand to improve your recovery. We'll help you prepare your body, set expectations for what recovery looks like, and make sure your core and pelvic floor are as strong as possible going into surgery.
-
Staying active during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your baby, but knowing what's safe, what's too much, and what to modify as your body changes can feel overwhelming. Our therapists have completed advanced training in prenatal exercise and are here to take the guesswork out of it entirely. Whether you're a runner, a weightlifter, a yogi, or just trying to keep up with daily life, we'll help you stay strong, active, and confident throughout every trimester without the fear of doing something wrong.
What Causes Your Symptoms
Pregnancy demands a lot from your body, and your pelvic floor takes on more stress than most people realize. As your baby grows, the added weight can put pressure on the muscles, joints, and nerves that support your pelvis. For some women this shows up as leaking, for others it's pain in the hips, back, or pelvis. Whatever you're feeling, it's not something you just have to push through. Your symptoms are treatable, and addressing things now is one of the best things you can do for your birth and your recovery.
What to Expect
One-on-one, hour-long sessions. Just you and your therapist — no rushing, no distractions, no assembly line care.
A team that listens. We know pregnancy comes with a lot of opinions and not always a lot of space to talk about how you're really feeling. We create that space.
Care that adapts with you. Your body is changing every week. Your treatment plan will too.
A smoother path to birth and beyond. Everything we do during pregnancy is designed with your postpartum recovery in mind as well.
