About Anchor Pelvic
A message from our founder:
I opened Anchor in 2022 with one mission in mind: To bring compassionate, holistic, and personalized care to Central Florida.
Earlier that year I had delivered my 4th child and was once again reminded that the type of care I believed in, that I needed, and that I wanted for all women, did not exist here.
So I built it.
Since then we've helped thousands of women stop managing their symptoms and start living without them.
At Anchor you’ll never be told to “just do kegels” or “have a glass of wine and relax”. You're going to work one-on-one with a therapist who specializes in pelvic floor therapy, who cares about your goals, and who is as invested in your progress as you are.
There is so much stigma, and secrecy, and many times shame associated with pelvic floor issues, and I built Anchor to combat all of that.
I want you to be the mom you want to be, I want you to be the person hitting PRs in the gym, I want you to be able to leave the house without planning around bathrooms, I want you to be the partner who feels desirable and has a fulfilling sex life, and I want you to get back to the things that make you feel like you.
I, along with the rest of the Anchor team, want everything for you that you want for yourself.
I hope to see you in the office soon.
Dr Allie

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We are an out-of-network clinic, which means that we do not accept or bill insurance directly. Payment is collected at the time of your visit. We accept HSA and FSA funds, CareCredit (No interest payments for up to 24 months), all major credit cards, and we also have flexible payment plans for those who need flexibility.
We will provide you with the necessary paperwork that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits, but we cannot guarantee reimbursement amounts, as every plan is different.
We always recommend calling your insurance provider to understand what your specific plan covers.
For more information, check out our rates and reimbursement page.
-
No referral is needed. You can reach out and book directly with us at any time.
-
We recommend wearing whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you live in athleisure, wear that, coming straight from your corporate job? we’ll make that work too. Just do what is easy for you. If your visit involves an internal assessment, you’ll be provided with a sheet for modesty and privacy. All hands-on treatment takes place in a private treatment room, and your comfort is our top priority.
-
Absolutely. This is part of why we founded Anchor in the first place. We are a mom-friendly clinic and completely understand that childcare isn't always an option. Bring them along. We will make it work, we always do.
-
Yes. Some patients find it helpful to have their partner present, especially in the early sessions.
-
Being on your period does not prevent us from treating you, and in some cases it can actually give us useful information. You always have the option to decline internal treatment, and we can utilize other external approaches to address your symptoms or make it a more exercise focused session.
-
During an internal exam, your therapist will explain everything before it happens and you are always in full control the entire time. The internal assessment involves inserting one gloved, lubricated finger to evaluate the muscles, connective tissue, and structures of the pelvic floor. Your therapist will narrate what they're finding as they go. Any discomfort is typically mild and temporary, often described as a feeling of pressure rather than pain. You are in control at every step, nothing happens without your consent, and you can stop at any time. At the end of the exam, your therapist will walk you through everything they found and what it means for your care going forward. For a more detailed explanation of what to expect at your first visit, check out our ‘What to Expect’ page.
-
Come exactly as you are! This might not be a question you even had (though plenty of patients tell us it was after the fact), but we wanted to put it out there just in case. There is no prep required before your appointment, and whether you shave or not has absolutely no bearing on your assessment or treatment. Your comfort is always our top priority, so please do what makes you feel best.
-
Every person is different, and pelvic floor issues can be complex. Most women notice meaningful improvement within just a few sessions. Others with longer-standing or more layered symptoms take more time.
How many sessions you'll need depends entirely on your goals, your history, and how your body responds. Your therapist will always clearly communicate the timeline and work directly with you to develop a treatment plan that is realistic and addresses the things you care about most.
-
At a hospital-based clinic, care is typically shaped by insurance constraints, visit caps, and high patient volumes. Hospital sessions are often shorter, you may rotate between providers, and treatment is often more passive.
At Anchor, every session is a full hour, one-on-one with a highly trained therapist. Treatment is movement-based and functional. We care about what your body can do in real life, not just what it can do lying on a table. And because we work outside of insurance, every decision we make is based entirely on what you actually need, not what is dictated by an outside party.
-
We ask for 48 hours notice for any cancellation as our clinic often runs on a waitlist. This allows time for someone else to utilize the appointment time slot.
